The Truman Show.  I don't care what anyone else says, Jim Carrey deserved an Oscar for that movie.  Also, Shawshank Redemption, another movie overlooked by the Academy.

Audition (if you dont mind watching something in japanese with english subtitles) Great horror movie  or anything else by that director
30 days of night is an amazing movie (horror)

Not really recommending the sequels...but the first is a great look at a bleak future.

Then you haven't seen many crazy movies, because those both suck. Pretentious overrated crap.

I recommend any John Waters' film. Seriously, these are must watch films. I particular enjoy Pink Flamingos the most, but they all each have their merits.
