I think I've heard about the 'twin' Transformers...if they're the ones that people have accused of being 'racial stereotypes'.  Sounds like more of the same bullshit that ruined the first Transformers for me.  The original series was pretty serious, so to speak, especially for an afternoon cartoon.  There was a bit of comic relief here and there, of course, but overall it wasn't meant to be silly or sarcastic or stupid.  Seems that the essence that made the original series great has totally been lost in translation by the director.  Hopefully someone steps in and saves the franchise, but with the wild box office success of the current live action movies, surely that won't be the case unfortunately.

It just goes to show that, like horror movies, when you get legions of easy-to-please juveniles and young adults willing to shell out $10 for worthless trash, there will always be directors in line to give them more of it just to make a quick buck.

The twin transformers were dumb as f*ck, they were supposed to be 'black' stereotypes. They were like the entire comic relief of the film, and i agree, also had a negative effect on the movie. Comic relief is what people are looking for in movies it seems like nowadays. Any movie that is super serious, like Titanic, is not wanted anymore these days. People want either funny, stupid, horror, action, or superhero movies. They care nothing for actual acting anymore, that skill is reserved for Broadway and the majority of people dont care if the acting is good or not. While i did enjoy the movie and would recommend it even if you didnt like the first one, it does have its low points and parts where if you are a true Transformer fan, your like WTF? Like with the whole humans being relied upon to save their race. Compared to Transformer, human are like insects, and the only way they play a role is through feelings like fearlessness and love. Stupid as f*ck, i didnt see humans ever play a huge role in the cartoon series.
Basically what Bay did was take the cartoons and modify them while also adding humans into the picture. So Jay, i would say go see it, but dont get your hopes up too high, because they are more than likely going to be let down. However, Bay's strength's in special effects and explosion is awe-inspiring. The man knows his explosion and effects, those are probably the spotlight of the movie. The storyline and acting thing is another story though, not too good, but people just wanna drool over Megan Fox and fantasize about her, so she will get a good acting rating just because she is attractive. Shia did pretty good. Anyone else had a minor role and either sucked or was only good, not great.

Actually, I wasn't impressed by Michael Bay's special effects in the first one.  Sure, there was top-notch 'realistic' computer animation, but the fight scenes between Transformers were usually up close and in your face so much to the point that you really couldn't even tell what was going on.  To me, that just means that he was hiding the fact that the scenes would've sucked if you could see them at more of a distance, so he threw them right in your face so all you could see was twisted metal and hear clanking sounds.  Ironically enough, the one Michael Bay movie that I did like was Pearl Harbor, which most people seem to despise.  He had just the right amount of comic relief in it without spoiling the film or taking away from the seriousness of it.

As for Megan Fox...just get over her, guys.  lol  Go out and find a 'real' woman because you'd never in a billion years have a chance with her.  You're only sexually frustrating yourselves by drooling over someone that you'll never be able to get.

I agree with the upclose thing in the first one, but i think he did a much better job on the fight scenes in the second one. The were face paced enough to keep you interested but also slow enough to not get you lost and end up confusing you as to what happened.

As for Pearl Harbor, i enjoyed it too, i think that it is the younger generation that hates Pearl Harbor (those who are between the ages of 13 and 18 now). Yes it was good, although i hate Ben Afflect as an actor, and after Daredevil i couldnt forgive him as an actor.

Thats what im saying dude lol no need to fantasize about a woman that doesnt even know you exist, and is exploiting her looks and body to get money out of your pocket. Yep, and sexual frustration is never a good thing, real women are much better than ones you see at the cinema lol. She is a very attractive woman, and is more than likely the reason that 50% of the guys that go see the movie actually go.  Lips Sealed

She is attractive, but so are most women in Hollywood.  I didn't find anything special about her or her character in the first movie...  She was just another stereotype character in a cast full of them in that movie.  Most of the people fantasizing about her wouldn't have a chance with someone far uglier than even Ugly Betty (which is a shame she's called 'ugly' because you can do far worse and that makes the 'average' women of the world that much more self conscious).

I thought the acting and storyline was not as good as it could have been. However there was some cheesy, yet fun, humor and, of course, amazing action sequences throughout that really made up for it. I only went to see the film for its action and CGI because it has some of the best that I've seen of any movie out there. Overall I was pleased with it.

I think the only way I'll ever be able to POSSIBLY get any enjoyment out of the movies is to go into it knowing that everything will suck other than some of the action and special effects.  it's heartbreaking, though, considering how awesome Transformers are/were and how big of a fan of them I am/was.  I never expected them to stick with the original story lines as that seems to be taboo in Hollywood and quite often the script writers and directors and producers and such look past what made the original content of what they're basing their movies on great to begin with and make up their own retarded version with little more than the namesake.  I never would've thought though that they could ruin something THIS bad...  I'll just have to try to appreciate the CGI and action...ugh...but I don't think even going in with that attitude will ever be enough to save these movies as far as I'm concerned.  Sad

Another thing that i noticed in Transformers 2 was that almost every girl in it was very good looking.

For me the film reminded me of Terminator 3 and Aliens Vs. Predator. Both bad films.

I like it better than the first one. I even went to see it a second time. The only movie I've seen in the theater twice other than Indy 4. Cheesy

I honestly don't understand everyone's gripe with the film. I thought that the twin transformers were hilarious throughout the whole movie, and I thought their parts were more than humorous when they came onto the screen. The storyline was damn good, and the action was of course superb and second to none. Seriously, everything that someone can tell me they didn't like about the film I can say that I did like. And don't try and tell me that I don't know true humor or that "How can I support such a stereotype of black people" or what have you. I, myself and black, and I found it to be hilarious.

Both of my big brothers were HUGE transformers fans, they grew up off of the originals from way back in the day, when they saw the movie THEY even said everything was awesome, so I'm definitely not going to take the word of people being too overly critical over small points in the movie.

You are right on the action parts, they were very good but I suppose the reason for my dislike of the twin transformers and other parts of the film was becuase I expected it to be serious, more so than the first and with the addition of these two new 'silly' characters it shattered by expectations.

Everyone has there own opinions of the humor presented in this film; you obviously enjoyed it, me, however, (and a few others in this thread) despised it.
