Yes. The base model of the Elgato, the one that rynog14 has and uses, is capable of recording all the way down to the Atari 2600. I used to use that capture card myself and would test with SNES videos all the time. Mind you you'll need the connection for it but Elgato sells that for $10 on Amazon if I remember correctly.

No problem. Just know that there are limitations and required specs for using a capture card for your computer. I recommend researching on Elgato's site before buying if you are going to buy one.

No. I have no plans of buying one. I'm justv curious on how they work. I'll just stick with the old VHS Tape routine.

I replaced my janky Elgato HD with an Avermedia Live Gamer EXTREME. <_< Works a lot better with other DirectShow programs, and Amazon had it for like...110$ last President's Day.

I never really used the included software... So the reviews didn't turn me off.
