Hmm...that one is actually a tough one...if we're going by of all times.

Now if we're going by the genre, that's another story

My favorite 'slice of life' anime is hands down is Clannad. Primarily the second season.

Dear God the second season just made me Cry, for real man tears. I don't think I could handle watching that again.

On Topic Wise... I Personally like the Gundam Series as a whole but if i Had to Pick "Mobile Suit Gundam: 8th MS Team" was the best just because it felt more real then the other ones in certain aspects of course.

Damn that's hard:

FMA: Brotherhood (sorry to say, but FMA just didn't hold up when I re-watched it after brotherhood)

Yu Yu Hakusho and Digimon (the first two series) are the ones I'll show to my kids first, most likely. . .maybe Inuyasha

Conan and Lupin III, although in VERY different ways, fit a little niche of my personality.

Death Note and Another are probably my favourite thriller types -- though Code Geass has some definite sway there

Clannad ~ After Story is quite possibly the most touching thing I've ever seen, ever.

I actually rather liked the first Hellsing anime, haven't gotten around to Ultimate.

and last but not least -- my guilty pleasure anime is Chobits.
