If the movie follows the actual game's story line and they cast actors who actually resemble the characters in the source material that would be a HUGE improvement over the lame attempts we've had over the years.

how do u get idk the plot of zelda into a 3 hour movie ?? im with saxcat on this ....but i spent 80 hours on Final fantasy 6... why whould i wanna see it again in a 3 hour movie ?? |

Every game can be made into if not a 3 hour movie then at least a short movie series with each movie in it showing off one aspect of the storyline. Its all down to getting creative scriptwriters who know the source material rather than using talentless hacks.

I'm with Chibi, Games and movies are completely different type of creation. A good game very often wouldn't make a good movie and vice versa.
By giving the movies/books/etc. their own unique storyline that expands the universe... they've done a number of good things. First... they expanded my knowledge of the game's world. Second, they didn't try to compress a 10+ hour story into an hour and a half. They didn't risk picking bad actors for my favorite characters.
As for the most important thing in the actual movie... respect or love of the source material. I watch alot of independent movies with extremely low budgets and terrible effects... and I've learned that you can clearly tell when people love what they are doing. If a movie comes off as a genuine tribute to the game... I'm more than willing to overlook technical issues.
