What games are symbolistic to you? Maybe you have some games that define you're childhood, or you felt an emotional connection to a game's story or it's characters, or you played a game that made you ask questions (philosophically, morally, or otherwise).

Name 'em and give reasons! D:<

For example, Freedom Fighters was not only a hidden gem that made it an awesome game, but I also played it's multiplayer countless times with my brother.

Gran Turismo 1 and 2, Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow,  and Rage Racer (a Ridge Racer clone) as they got me hooked on gaming.

I'd have to say King's Quest V.  I had a friend that would come over every weekend and for a few months we took that game on.  Back when you didn't get help on the internet or didn't have hint books on it, these adventure games could take forever.

However it was so fun and I look back on it fondly.

Super Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda (NES) and Dragon Warrior III, those were the games that defined my childhood. Tough and challenging in the case of Mario and Zelda and memorable monsters in the case of Dragon Warrior III.

Super Metroid, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil. If these games never existed I wouldn't be the hardcore gamer I am today.

Pokemon. When I have some troubles I play Pokemon game and like that I really don't feel stressed out or worried about much.
It feels like an escape albeit a temporary escape but I have a lot of a fun playing.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario All-Stars are very important to me because they remind me of my sister.  We play those games very often, especially Zelda, which we can get through in our sleep.
