Hey there! I want to hold a poll to determine which 80's Metal Band was the most favorited by Metal fans. The Bands on the Poll all formed between 1980-1984. So please, Feel Free to vote!
I will put up a secondary poll for the other Metal bands that couldn't fit into this one

definitely megadeth, amazing songs and they have made so many classics for example: Countdown to extinction, peace sells, sweating bullets, wake up dead etc.

Judas Priest or Iron Maiden.  They were both awesome in the 80's.

But I am assuming you meant bands that began in the 80's...  Unfortunately, almost all of my favorite Metal Bands started in the late 70's.  And some in the late 60's even.  Starting in the 80's.  1984 to be exact.  HELLOWEEN!!

Helloween is pretty awesome.  VICTIM OF FATE!

Luckily, Metallica was still good between 80-84.

"Kill Em' All" - which, basically, was written by Dave Mustane (who got kicked out and then formed Megadeth) was all modeled after British thrash (Jump in the Fire, Four Horsemen, Whiplash).

"Ride the Lightning" - had the last vestiges of the Mustane influence and then found Hetfield taking care of business in a great way (For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fade to Black, Creeping Death).

But that's the cap of 84. Master of Puppets was 86, and as for anything after "And Justice for All..." well, no comment.

Don't get me wrong - Dave Mustane put out a ton of great music. But "Peace Sells.... But Who's Buying"  which has some great songs wasn't out till 86. If we're talking 80-84, he (Megadeth) is disqualified - even "Killing is my business" wasn't out till 85.

Slayer had "Show No Mercy" and "Haunting the Chapel" in 84 which, for all intents and purposes, could be records they released today - they were badass - but, for me, the band didn't really hit solid until "Reign in Blood", but that was 86' as well.

Yeah, talk about a good year for Thrash Metal - 86 had Master of Puppets, Peace Sells, and Reign in Blood. Wish I had been older than 11.
