I used to watch it everyday with my cousin. Although it did bore me after the cell saga.

I watched DBZ when it was on Toonami religiously. I bought most if not all of the movies on VHS when I was in middle school and I still have them even though I haven't had a working VCR in a good 4 or 5 years. I lost interest in it when I got to high school though.

I've always enjoyed Dragon Ball Z. I can't quite remember exactly when I first saw it, but when I was child, I saw an episode from the Vegeta saga on some channel on a Saturday morning. I mostly remember watching it on Toonomi after school when I was in middle school. I had recently watched the entire Dragon Ball Z episode on YouTube, and which was a lot better than having to wait days for a fight to end if you were watching it on Cartoon Network.

While I was growing up in the Dominican Republic I first saw DBZ when I was 11 in cable. But in spanish channels I saw it in this order

1. Dragon Ball
2. Dragon Ball Z
3. Dragon Ball GT

Dragon Ball Z was the most popular anime in the Dominican Republic and around the world. But in DR, before Dragon Ball Z, the most popular anime was Saint Seiya. After Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball was popular and it's competition was Pokemon. But DBZ took over the whole country by storm.

To me, DBZ is still the prototypical anime.  Too bad it's actually in the top 1% of all anime (I think, anyway.  Not a huge fan of anime, but I do like some series).  Of course, Dragon Ball Z Abridged is some of the funniest stuff on the internet right now.  Check them out, why don't you?
