With Dio being recent. there are a lot of sad moments in music, but the good moments they gave us out number the bad ones. That's why alive or dead, they're music will live on forever.

The death of Layne Staley

I remember when that happened. I thought at the time there would no longer be Alice In Chains, but they proved me wrong. I think they're doing pretty well for themselves minus Layne, even though I do miss his voice.

Yeah, they are doing pretty well but to me they won't ever be the same.

Here's another one from a month back: Peter Steele 1962 - 2010. I didn't even know about that one until now.

The saddest moment in music history ever was the creation of Rap. (No offense to people who like Rap...it's all a matter of choice, but I loathe it).

Yeah, but the way I see it, rap isn't really music... at least not the way people were used to it before it came around.
The beats are usually addicting and stimulating, which is fine.
The lyrics are usually atrocious with no original concepts of the beaten path of gangster/sex/women/money/drugs/anything else that makes me seem cooler than you, will make me feel better about myself, and make me money off of this song.

So yeah... you can love it or hate it but it isn't exactly music... more like stimulating beats and rhythms with dirty poems thrown over them.
I personally agree with this one though, I was born in the wrong era for music with all this garbage nowadays...   Undecided
