I reccomend Eureka Seven, if you want a Mecha anime that has an amazing story, on top of well developed characters.

Zatch Bell.  I just remember how I liked it Smiley  When it first came out I was like, shit, another NEW anime.  And so I didn't watch it until I had nothing else to watch.  And then I started liking it.

And I haven't seen it in like 2 years now...  Sad

Ouran High School Host Club loved it 26 episodes  Grin and if you don't like that try
