1  Video Walkthrough Recording / Recording Hardware / Re: Hauppauge 720p vs 1080i on: July 29, 2012, 02:03:19 PM
If you can't do 1080p, I'd stick to 720p. Interlaced stuff always gives you problems.

3  Video Walkthrough Recording / Recording Hardware / Re: Dedicated recording computer? on: July 29, 2012, 01:59:03 PM
I use a second PC for recording when fraps gives me huge fps hits, like DOSBOX games or something. I use the Hauppauge Colossus internal card with HDMI input (a very old computer is enough for recording) with the HDMI-out of my graphics card and just duplicate the screen with the catalyst control center. The quality is perfect, when recording with 20 mbit, there is no difference to fraps, which also is NOT lossless, as not many know.

I'd say the AMD 7870 is a perfect choice at the moment. It's powerful enough to run everything at 1080p while recording with fraps or the like and doesn't cost a fortune.

I would recommend the Hauppauge Colossus, an internal card for PC with HDMI input, as well as analogue. Gives you perfect quality and is cheaper than the PVR.
6  Welcome / Site & App Questions and Bug Reports / Video Player and Kaspersky IS on: February 20, 2011, 08:04:58 AM
I cannot get the video player to work with kaspersky internet security, even when I add *gameanyone* to the allowed websites at the antibanner options.
I'm running 64bit Win 7.
