Noise music originates in the early 1900's with the atonal experimental music with artists such as Xenakis, Penderecki, Stockhausen, and Cage. Which would later (1940s-1950s) be expanded, by the advent of more accessible electronic recording and musical equipment, into Musique Concrete. Musique Concrete utilized found sounds and generated noises organized into compositions such as those created by Varèse. Noise music as it is known now was created once theses genres of music combine with the feedback heavy music of the 70's psychedelic rock movement specifically influenced Jimi Hendrix as well as the free jazz movement with artists like Sun-ra as well as being influenced heavily by the Dadaist visual arts movement and it's themes of anti-art experimentation. Masami Akita of merzbow is the one who really coined the term noise music. Noise is defined as an unpleasant sound which he found to be ironic considering this is how he felt about pop music and felt the opposite about the dissonant sounds he created thus he called it noise as an ironic jab at popular music.
In the ways that speak specifically to why I enjoy noise are:
1. It is constantly changing and constantly modifying itself so it never gets boring as a genre
2. It is absolute freedom of composition, structure, and style (literally anything goes)
3. It is able to alter mood and feelings without resorting to tried and tested means
4. It is a genre where technical skill is both irrelevant but necessary
5. It exist both spatially as well as aurally (meaning that it is as much about effecting the listener physically as it is about emotional connection)
6. It is a socialism of sound (nothing is necessarily better then anything else so what is good and what isn't is decided by it's effect on the listener rather then the musically irrelevant shit that music is judged on nowadays)
7. It works in almost any situation (if you want to sit down and analyze what is happening you can but if you want to turn it on while doing something else it is just as potent)

Some noise artists to check out:
Merzbow
Masonna
Keiji Haino
C.C.C.C.
Hanatarash
Government Alpha
Otomo Yoshihide
Guilty Connector
Torturing Nurse
Wolf Eyes
Incapacitants
Xome

Not my personal favourite, but it's pretty good genre.

I'm not sure what genre this qualifies for, but it's somewhat similar to noise (i guess) from Silent Hill 1 ost:

That was a really cool song but I don't think it would go unders noise since it had structure and a rythm to it. Nevertheless it's a really awesome song.

Heres a really awesome noise song. Not every second of the song is absolute noise but it is one of the most horrifying songs I've ever listened to.

I put it on my mp3 player to wake me up in the morning.
