Title: Streaming To GameAnyone
Post by: HelloJapan960 on March 17, 2014, 04:12:15 AM
Streaming to GameAnyone can be very simple if you approach it slowly and don't become too overwhelmed by all of the things that are needed.  Keep this in mind as you begin setting up all of your equipment for your first cast to the site!  :D

Requirements:
  • You must be a Director or have a GameAnyone Gold Membership
  • Flash Media Live Encoder
  • A program to pass video to FMLE: Xsplit, OBS, FFSplit, Wirecast, etc...
  • A way to consolidate all of your audio into one track (If you are planning on doing commentary): Audio Mixing Board, Virtual Audio Cable, or any way to mix your audio
  • I recommend an upload speed greater than or equal to 1mbps!

Audio Mixer Method:
Error
Materials: (Red highlights specific to this section)
  • Mixer
  • XLR Microphone
  • Cables for audio input/output
  • Decent headphones for monitoring your audio levels
  • Flash Media Live Encoder
  • Upload speed of 1mbps or greater

Virtual Audio Cable Method:
Error
Materials: (Green highlights specific to this section)
  • Virtual Audio Cable program
  • A decent USB Microphone (A headset would work too)
  • A way to control your audio levels (I recommend Volume Mixer in Windows)
  • An Auxiliary cable if you can't pass your main audio into the virtual cable (Auxiliary Cable used to pass out audio from the back of your computer back into the input, usually right next to the out)
  • Flash Media Live Encoder
  • Upload speed of 1mbps or greater

Additional Flash Media Live Encoder Help:

Additional Xsplit Help:
Error

Closing Notes:
  • Keep in mind GameAnyone does not save your footage so if you want to keep past streams you must do that on your end
  • Keep your password and username private; if that information gets out anyone could stream using your information
  • You MUST be a GameAnyone Director or Gold Member to access this feature of the site
  • If you have any further questions I will try my best to answer any that anyone has

HAPPY STREAMING! :D

Any program/product with a Direct Show filter can be picked up by FMLE. This includes a variety of PCI-e cards and game recorder boxes. Also, Virtual Audio Cable costs money. Last I checked, anyhow, and there are other ways to mix your audio streams. It just depends on your hardware/ingenuity. :P

Who's myself? I can't find anyone with that name (http://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/jtv_user_pictures/chansub-global-emoticon-ddc6e3a8732cb50f-25x28.png)

Ehh, streaming is something I'd like to try, but I'm too gawd dayum bwussy, but maybe one day... maybe.
I have the livegamer hd PCI-E version and RECentral blows torch on the quality, and with external software using it as a source, it uses more CPU than recording normally. Blasphemy!
2 PC setup is probably the best answer for pure streaming, I'll pick a laptop this summer, maybe then I'll do some streaming while recording.

In any case, there was some really useful info that I'll use in the future. Good job!

I'd love to stream some day. I have tried, but my internet speed is very slow for uploading. It's marked as 1Mbps by ISP, but I'm normally getting 500Kbps. My broadcasts are getting stopped after a while because of that.

There's a problem with this thread on Google Chrome. When ever I try to access it through Chrome, the site becomes deceptive. Other browsers it's fine.
